International Darwin Day –February 12

Darwin Day commemorates the birthday anniversary of Charles Darwin, father of the theory of evolution, who was born on February 12, 1809. This day, observed in tribute to Darwin's contribution to genetics and to biological science in general, was established in 1882, the year in which Darwin died. It is observed mainly in academic establishments and circles to express appreciation to his work in the field of the history of mankind and all living things and to his remarkable contribution to our understanding of where we came from.
